Jamie’s Story
After four months of glorious travel, Jamie was starting to worry.
He graduated in Architecture last October and - after a well-earned break - it was time to get a ‘proper’ job.
News from his uni mates wasn’t good. Few entry-level jobs, heavy competition, a rapidly changing industry. Jamie wasn’t even sure he wanted to be an architect any more.
His mum helped as much as she could (with a full-time job), but he needed an unbiased opinion - so she recommended Sally.
Jamie was apprehensive before the first conversation. He shared his job-hunting journey so far: unanswered applications, the odd agency call, ghosted emails. His biggest frustration? The lack of feedback.
So, Jamie and Sally created a plan to get that feedback. A creative, personalised approach that gave recipients insight into who Jamie is and what he cares about.
He hand-delivered letters and stunning bespoke sketches.
He was invited for coffee, gathered valuable information about the industry and the business.
He secured work experience and a Side Door to a full-time assistant job in a crowded industry.
He also gained confidence and built his support system. One of his friends offered a warm intro to a practice about to look for a new architectural assistant. And he got the job.
Jamie didn’t just get feedback. He built relationships with people who appreciate his creative approach, got a ‘first mover’ advantage, and secured valuable day-to-day experience - to decide whether his chosen career is right for him or not.
Now he feels confident, motivated and focused. He's not just ready for the job — he’s taken full ownership of where it’s going.

I’ll support you with a mixture of coaching and mentoring to give you greater clarity, confidence and connection as you move from uni into work. Mentoring provides information and advice, while coaching asks deep questions to unlock what you know and what you want.

Parents or grads can book an intro call with me to find out more about the programme and how it works. I will never agree to work with a grad until we’ve had a longer chemistry call and are both confident that it’s the right fit.

I’m happy to hold sessions in-person within 30 minutes of my base, in south Surrey. Virtual sessions allow me to support more people, further afield.

Starting the programme is a commitment to complete all 10 sessions. Whatever your situation, working 1:1 allows me to tailor the content to exactly what you need, when you need it. We can go slow, we can go fast!

Absolutely! The Side Door approach is much more accessible than traditional Networking and the ‘tiny experiments’ framework we use is a favourite among clients with ADHD and autism.
